IBRA Gathering 2026

This year’s 2026 annual gathering will focus on the creation of the “Gathering Rod,” the rod that will be the first prize in the raffle. From Friday afternoon until Sunday, a workshop will be set up where rodmakers will build a rod over three days. All members and guests will be welcome to participate.
Please find attached the workshop program, which lists the construction phases and times. Participation in the workshop is open to all, so please let us know which construction phase you would like to participate in so we can organize the shop accordingly.
All participants will receive a limited-edition, numbered poster signed by all the rodmakers who contributed to the construction.
On Saturday, the program includes the awarding of the coveted IBRA Gabriele Gori Award 2026, with the presentation of the “golden plane” to the winner.
The Annual General Members’ meeting will be convened to approve the budget and also to elect the new board of directors and the new committee for the IBRA Gabriele Gori Prize, which will serve for the four-year term 2026-2030.
Sunday will be dedicated to casting, completing the gathering rod, handing out the first 30 issues of the Bamboo Journal collection, and presenting the program for next year by the new President.
Attached to this communication are the program of the gathering, the participation form, and the program for the gathering rod-building workshop. If you intend to actively participate in the workshop, please let us know by March 20th at ibra@rodmakers.it which phase you would like to participate in, for example, “S3 – gluing the strips.” IBRA will take care of setting up the workshop, providing the necessary materials and equipment, and will also provide a tutor for less experienced participants who would still like to contribute.
These will be three intense days that, as always, will give everyone the opportunity to get to know each other, discuss ideas, exchange experiences, and learn about our shared passion, in the true spirit of IBRA.
